Cuba DST ends November 13, 2011

Cuba has extended daylight saving time (DST) by 2 weeks this year, and will turn the clocks back one hour at 1:00 am on Sunday November 13, 2011, instead of on the last Sunday of October, which was the original schedule.

Several news media report that the Union Electrica, and the Cuban Ministry of Basic Industry, verified the extension on October 30, 2011, the same day as the clocks were supposed to have been turned back.
It has traditionally been difficult to verify DST changes in Cuba in advance, as the authorities in Havana often alter the island’s DST schedule on very short notice, normally in a bid to save the use of electricity for lighting.
